What my experiences taught me
Through my internships, I had the opportunity to work alongside companies and put my creative abilities to use. I created posts on Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, Youtube, and TikTok, which all have been executed, highlighting their ability to effectively communicate brand messaging, engage with followers, and increase follower growth and engagement rates. As well as posting, I acquired relevant skills, such as utilizing web design platforms (Canva, Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator) and photography skills in creating social media content to rebrand and clean up the social presence of each company. I kept track of the social media calendars to plan, use the analytics of posts to better our ideas for the upcoming months, and stay organized. I was taught to plug in analytics on Microsoft Excel and read data-driven insights on all social platforms to demonstrate my ability to measure and analyze a social media post's performance. Other than the photo and video aspects, I used my strong writing skills by coming up with press release ideas, write and create email campaigns, and write blogs about upcoming trends, events, and relevant information regarding the company I was interning for. Overall, my work reflects my passion for social media, creativity, and ability to produce impactful results for the companies I worked with. I had the privilege of attaining my skills from to a career that entails digital marketing and public relations. My goal was to understand human behavior for the purpose of crafting compelling narratives to connect to and engage audiences. Learning to delve into the minds of target consumer—understanding needs, desires, fears, and motivations—drives me to create content that resonates deeply and influences decision making. Creative writing grew my ability to tell stories to customers that create connections, evoke emotions, and make information more memorable. Beyond my studies in psychology and creative writing, I did a semester abroad to build my understanding of other cultures and how different belief systems drive marketing needs. Intercultural communication was particularly eye-opening. Right now, I am lucky enough to be apart of Linda Gaunt Communications working as a PR assistant and gaining lots of knowledge on influencer relations, fashion marketing, and fashion PR
